Bulugh ul Maram Part 2 – Fiqh of Social Dealings
This course is an in-depth study of one of the great books in classical Fiqh ul Hadith, Bulugh Al Maram min Adillatil Ahkam, authored by the great Shafi’ee scholar of Islam, Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani (may Allah have mercy on him). The book covers all the topics of fiqh, through the discussions of relevant ahadith. This course is taught in a comparative manner, where the instructor will not only provide the explanations of the ahadith, but also discuss the various opinions that exist.
In part 2, you will go through 10 modules, i.e. the last 10 books, and thus completing the study of Bulugh al Maram; the following topics of mu’malat (transactions) and jinayaat (criminal law), including a conclusion, will be covered:

- Book of Hudood
- Book of Jihad
- Book of Tt’am
- Book of Aymaan wa Nudhoor
- Book of Qadha wa Shahadat
- Book of ‘Itq
- Book of Jamiah
Course Objectives:
- To understand the judicial rulings of business transactions and marriage
- To understand the rulings and procedures of convicting criminal behaviour and the Islamic court system
- To appreciate the comprehensive nature of judiciary in Islam
- To appreciate the scholars and their efforts in deriving the rules from the Quran and Sunnah
- To clarify misunderstood textual evidences and provide an accurate presentation
- To appreciate the level of detail the scholars of Islam engaged with the Quran and Sunnah
- To appreciate, learn and understand how and why different fiqh positions exist
